Golden Retriever specific dietary needs:

Protein

Golden retrievers are popular family dogs but they are also used as service dogs and compete in almost every dog sport. These active and friendly dogs can work up an appetite. Owners need to be careful though, as these dogs are prone to obesity.

Ollie’s recipes filled with quality protein sources including gently cooked human-grade chicken, turkey, beef, and lamb are ideal for Golden retrievers. In addition to the muscle meat from these protein sources, we also use organ meat as a source of high-quality protein. Our meals are made with nutrient-dense organs including the kidney and liver to add essential vitamins and minerals like iron, and magnesium.

Fat

While pet parents don’t want their pups to gain too much weight, dietary fat is important to help your pup feel full, satisfied, and have plenty of energy. That is why we blend the optimal amount of dietary fat into each of our recipes. We ensure that our recipes contain great sources of Omega 3 fatty acids including cod liver oil. These fat sources will help active pups maintain a healthy weight, skin, and coat.

Carbohydrates

Ollie delivers quality nutrition in every bite. While there is no official guidance from AAFCO on carbohydrate content, we add only the best to fuel your adventures. Your active Golden retriever can count on our recipes to help them feel full and energized. From leafy greens like spinach and kale to orange powerhouses like pumpkin, carrot, sweet potato, and butternut squash. In addition, our ingredients are great sources of fiber. A diet rich in fiber keeps the digestive system running smoothly. When feeding Ollie, you might notice your pup is having better, less frequent poops.

Meat-first recipes

Meat is at the forefront of all of our recipes—but not just any meat —real, high-quality protein sourced from farms in the US, New Zealand, and Australia.

Blueberries

Fruit

Blueberries and cranberries pack a nutritive punch, providing your pup with vitamins and antioxidants.

Red lentils

Plant-based protein

Chickpeas, lentils, and peas pick up where meats leave off to offer complete and balanced protein essential to pups.

Kale

Leafy greens and root vegetables

From kale to sweet potatoes, veggies are a rich source of dietary fiber for digestive health (good poops!).
